I graduated with a degree in Geography and German Literature in 1986 and worked for several years as a teacher. Always interested in the arts I finally attended an art college, by correspondence, and over a two year period I could improve my skills in aquarelle and acrylic painting.
In the summer of 2004 I discovered the art of glass beadmaking. Creating unique wonderful art in my studio has become a real passion for me. I love to take a painterly approach to glass using bold and brilliant colors and exploring a variety of techniques creating a painting in motion of colorful abstractions of flora and fauna using my intuition while working on surface design as a collage of shards, murrine, dots, a variety of stringer and twisties, layering colors and also playing with the ability to create depth and interest by working with transparent and opaque areas.
After a long time making beads I started 2009 making jewelry when I got the invitation to be part of the Bead Invitational of the Pismo Fine Art Gallery in Denver. I have the most beautiful job of the world and today I am happy to be a fulltime glass artist.
I was lucky enough to have the courage to live the life I love for 10 years now – a life in glass.
